What a holiday! I really don't know anything about it, except that it is Irish, you're supposed to wear green, people eat corned beef & cabbage, there are little leprechauns running around...I'm sure I'm missing something! My brother-in-law Patrick could probably fill me in.
Do you remember the awful sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach when to your horror you realize everyone at school but you is wearing green--and you are going to be pinched all day long? Spencer (my dear brother) do you remember having to have a green shamrock pinned on to save your skin? Was that you? What a crazy custom. I wonder how it started and how it got so wide spread. I'll admit that the mischievious side of me loved it and looked for any possible opportunity to give a little pinch--not hard. Maybe I was normally too nice...a bit repressed...ha ha.
Daniel celebrated at school Friday by making a rainbow of skittles and graphing and eating them, and Rachel's classroom had some leprechauns visit at lunch. They knocked over some chairs, scribbled on the board, left some little footprints and some chocolate gold coins. She was thrilled. Skittles and chocolate sound like a better way of celebrating than pinches, corned beef, and cabbage--that's for sure!
The Bartholomeusz family invited us over for green shamrock pancakes. What fun! Evan wouldn't take off his hat because it was his only green item of clothing. Dan is quite talented at making shapes free hand. It makes me feel old to be going to my high school friend's home with my four kids, her third due within a month. The kids had a great time jumping on the trampoline, digging in the dirt, and playing with their huge great dane, "Minnie." Thanks Dan & Heidi! And may the luck 'o' the Irish be with you all! ;)

LOL, that was me - Oh the horror! The realization sent me into panicked tears until the kind ladies in the attendance office saved me with a construction paper shamrock. Bless them, haha.
I love all the pictures, everyone looks so cute in their green.
