We had
Spencer was asked to play the soldier and was racking his brain as to what to use for a costume when he remembered our friend had used this to play Captain Moroni in a stake priesthood meeting. It was perfect!
He talked about how the Romans kept tabs on possible troublemakers and that he was assigned to follow Jesus. He was surprised by His teachings of love and peace, unlike so many of the militant zealots. He was touched by the teachings but not converted. He was assigned to crowd control at the crucifixion, and like his centurion captain, upon Christ's crucifixion and subsequent earthquakes he knew that, "surely, this was the Son of God."
Sharing times can be hit and miss. You never know how they will go over with the kids, but this one was awesome and we were all grateful to the "actors" who did such a great job and brought the spirit of Easter to the children.
