Happy Birthday Grandpa, and Happy Easter Everyone!

We had a fun Easter weekend. We started off at our community center for an Easter egg hunt. Sarah had a great time racing the one and two year olds while Rachel, on the other hand, wasn't as successful as last year having been bumped from the 4-6 group into the 7-10 crowd. Between being shoved by the big boys and having the sprinklers turned on, Rachel was glad that the party was moving on to Grandma & Grandpa's house for a birthday party and another egg hunt.

Rachel is our resident climber and loves to climb anything! She can shimmy up a palm tree, no problem. After enjoying a very successful egg hunt and Easter treats from Grandma and Grandpa, she tried out some trees in their back yard.
Eric is starting to take a few steps which is very exciting! He is so fun.

We had the famous bunny cake for Grandpa's birthday and burned it off with a fun wallyball game. Eric shoved his whole (little piece) into his mouth at once, and finished it off in two bites (some fell out of his mouth after the first shove.)

At home we dyed Easter eggs and fingers. I tried to convince the kids to use the little wire egg dipper, but hands were deemed to be much easier! Luckily it all came off in the bath.
Easter Day was very nice. The kids were excited to find their baskets and the hidden eggs. Rachel's was tricky, hanging behind the curtains up on the curtain rod. Daniel finally found his in the dryer (you might think that would be an obvious place, having spent time there himself recently) and Sarah's was tucked among the toys. Eric found his quickly, out in the open and loves his bell rattle. He's got rhythm! Daniel ran around like a crazed bunny upon discovering his K'nex car. He was beyond excited. We had family and friends over for a yummy dinner topped off with carrot cake and coconut cream pie.
