Cousin Time

We had a great week playing with our cousins. Kari's mom is remarrying this week so they were
already flying west from New York. We're so glad they would come early to visit us! Jesse, Riley & Kristen came out too so we had all the original Plumb siblings together. We missed Mom & Dad in England and Cami & Ezra, who are awaiting George's arrival. :)

The cousins spent hours, literally--the first day they spent over five straight hours--swimming! The second swim day Daniel decided to mix it up a bit by changing into his pirate costume for a little swashbuckling action.

We broke up our swimming days with SeaWorld! The Sea lion and Shamu shows, otters, eels, beluga whales, polar bears, and penguins, petting bat rays and riding rides, and playing on the gigantic playground! With three adults and nine kids: 8, 6, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, & 0 we were definitely outnumbered, but we went in the afternoon and stayed until fireworks and 11 o'clock closing!

Polar Bear cubs in the ice cave--roaarrr!

Melanie wasn't quite tall enough for any rides!

Saturday was beach day and people kayaked, surfed, boogie boarded, slept, bocce'd, dug, built and ate! Eli's favorite snack-sand-was easy to find!

We played a lot of games--
some board games,

and some courtesy of Uncle Jesse. Wii all had fun watching tennis, bowling, and other virtual action,

and there were mixed feelings about the singing fun!

Whichever cousins wanted to had a sleepover on the last night in Sarah's room. Brinly opted out and Payton was cute--he said that he and Daniel shouldn't be next to each other "because we'll mess around" and he didn't want to get in trouble when they were supposed to be sleeping. Kari assured him that it was OK if they didn't go to sleep right away because it was a sleepover and they could play a bit but they were all out cold in minutes. They had already played hard all week long!

We said our farewells at Soupplantation. Kari and I commented on how quickly the week had gone because of how great the kids got along. They had a blast together and we had a wonderful week!
