You can imagine how I felt with this turn of events. A three-week old baby and a tarantula on the loose. Not thrilled. We looked everywhere but I had to resign myself to putting it out of my mind as best I could. Sarah woke up the following night with nightmares and Daniel had a dream that he thought was real that Midnight was on the floor of his room and ran down to get Spencer. He wasn't scared, but we were woken up just the same! :) Spencer woke up a few times on his own that night too. I only woke up from Melanie, no "Midnight" disturbances for me.
Luckily, even prayers about spiders are answered and as I was coming out of our downstairs bedroom last night after getting home from the movie I saw the HUGE spider halfway up the hall closet's door. I yelled for Spencer and Midnight, obviously reluctant to be put back in a box, was contained once more. I am thrilled! But I think today we are going to return him/her to their home sweet home in Grandpa's yard. But we'll have memories--and pictures!

I love all your new posts Kim. Your guys have such a fun family. I can't believe how great you are looking and how out and about you are after having a baby. I guess that is how is goes when it isn't your first. There is no time to sit around. What a fun time for you guys!
Thanks Heather, how fun to "hear" from you! I'm going to go check out your blog :)
We are doing great and I'm lucky Melanie is such a good sleeper so I can *kind of* keep up around here!
I just got some serious shivers!! I so do NOT like spiders, just like you! I love that it's the girls getting their pictures with Midnight, they're brave!!
Becca just told me about midnight today...ahhhh. I think I would have had to leave the house until it was found. If the "pets" get any creepier we have a blow up mattress available for you anytime Kim.
Kim, we have entered the world of pets around here. We started with a hamster last Christmas. That worked out okay. My kids regularly bring home crawdads, tadpoles, frogs, tarantulas, praying mantis, etc. We have a couple of habitats. I okayed a fish tank. Without asking, my dad bought my son a snake! My son walked in carrying it. I didn't strangle my dad on the spot. I have been surprisingly cool with it. But, we do plan to give it away before it grows its full 4-6 FEET in length! Ew!
So Steph, the hamster was OK?
I am not really a pet person at heart. I love the ZOO! I don't actually mind reptiles or even spiders that much--as long as I know where they are!
My kids want a dog SO bad. I am not ready. I remember catching frogs and crawdads in elementary school. Sounds like you have a great place for your boys!
Ahhhhhh!
