March Highlights

Yes, we are still alive! Busy, HOT (what is with 100* temps in May, may I ask?) and I'm getting larger by the day, but we are all doing well.
I thought I'd do a quick month-by-month update. It has been very full!
The first of March started out with Rachel's baptism. It was a wonderful, special day. I felt really old! It was nice because there was only one other boy being baptized that day and we knew their family so it was smaller and more personal than other stake baptisms that I've been too. Rachel's school teacher and her best friend with her mom and sister came which was nice. We met back at our house for dinner.

The next day we celebrated the three February Birthdays with the Sabins. Eric wasn't sure about his cake at first, but as you can see, decided he liked it just fine!
Spencer got his new favorite game, "Ticket to Ride." It's addicting!
Rachel had requested a cake with pink roses, chocolate frosting, and sprinkles.
Luckily she isn't picky about execution! I used the middle of the 2 rounds to make a little personal cake for Eric. And Spencer requested strawberry shortcake.

Happy Birthday to Spencer! A new board was definite highlight of his month.

We celebrated Uncle Spencer & Bryan's birthdays with a trip to Benihanas and seeing "Wicked" which was Awesome! I love live musicals. It was really a fun story...different from what I expected and we all loved it. It has been so fun to have Spencer in town so long while he is deciding on med schools. And Bryan is 18!!!
Daniel and Rachel celebrated in their own way by catching this monster lizard on Bry's birthday. And seconds after this picture was taking it, fumbling and dropping it. They almost caught it again but the tail fell off and he dashed under the super heavy entertainment center. We never recaught it. But I saw a suspiciously large tail-less lizard on a rock outside and I really hope it was the one!!!

Spencer traveled a lot this month...including Youth Conference, he was gone about 1/3 of March!
But luckily he didn't miss Turtleback's annual jog-a-thon. The kids did great and were excited he could come run some laps with them.
He was sad to miss the annual St Patrick's Day breakfast we have with friends.
It is amazing what blue food coloring does to orange juice! It is also amazing how HUGE a great dane dog can seem when you've just turned two. And these pictures were taken with the kids on a step higher than the dog. Rachel is still constantly lobbying for a dog. They're excited for the baby, but if they could choose, I think they'd trade for a new canine familiy member.

Eric found a better use for Cream of Wheat.

Eric's first "Flowbee" Haircut. We love that thing!

Daniel found the "winning ticket" at our community egg hunt so he won a fun easter basket full of toys and treats. He was excited!

Everyone really enjoyed dying Easter eggs (and fingers) this year. We made a lot and did some tricky things with rubber bands, stickers and white crayons. fun fun fun!

A bird flew into our house that night and Spencer was able to catch it. I think he name it...um...I can't remember..."John"? maybe? I could NOT have caught it!
Easter was really nice. 1 o'clock church is great for holidays! We had a nice morning with a basket and egg hunt. I did Sharing Time for primary and it went well. We had everyone (Sabins, Sattleys, Solanos, & Plumbs) over for dinner after church and it was great to be together. Family, food, fun!

The kids waiting to come downstairs and start the hunt.
Sarah was the first to find her basket. Eric wasted no time once he had his! Rachel found the special egg Dad said was worth $1. She was So excited!

That was a great long update, and I'm sure it felt great to get all that off your chest Kimberly. :) Loved seeing the pictures.
