April Highlights

Spencer went to China the last week of March/beginning of April and the boys knew just what to do with the PJs he brought back.

Rachel wore one of her dresses to the elementary school's Open House.
Daniel loves his teacher, Mrs. H.

Happy Birthday Grandpa! We had a fun party for Grandpa Sabin's birthday on General Conference weekend.

We looked outside the window and saw that Daniel had found a stinkbug. They are everywhere this spring! I've never seen so many. I felt something crawling on me under my pants at the park last Wednesday and sure enough, big black beetle! Gross! They seem like they're falling from the sky (and I have, as have several of my friends, had one drop on me from a tree or something!)

Rachel had a birthday party all set for Friday and then she threw up in class! Bummer. Luckily she was all better for our spring break trip to Arizona on Monday. We drove to Phoenix and stayed in a fun hotel with big swimming pools, water slide, lazy river and miniature golf. We had a great relaxing time. We really needed it after our crazy March!

The exciting town of Gila Bend, Arizona. A good gas/potty stop!

Getting tucked in at the hotel. Eric actually got his own bed!

Fun at the "River Ranch"

We went strawberry picking with Jim & Amy Sabin and some other friends. Spencer won the biggest strawberry award at our BBQ after with a .54 gram whopper. Eric stuck to his "no fruit"policy by happiily picking but refusing to taste a strawberry. He happily eats broccoli and zuchinni, but try to give him a piece of orange or apple and you might as well be poisoning him. Funny boy!

We finally had Rachel's jungle birthday party that we had to reschedule. The kids had a fun time with some jungle crafts and games and as always the pinata was a "hit" hahaha.

Saturdays have been soccer days. Rachel's team, "The Dragons" has had a really fun season. We just finished up with 1-5:30 tournament with all the girls teams in 4S & RB and they didn't give up any goals! Rachel plays defense and loves it. They tied 3 games and won one 3-0 and ended up in third place. Rachel was pretty excited to get a medal her first time playing.
There is a fun park we play at during practice and after games.

We continued the tradition of celebrating family birthdays with Grandmother Plumb at Ruby's diner. April is the month of the girls--Ashlyn, Claire & Becca! Our "regular" booth was taken so we had to divide into two adjacent ones. We all had a good time.

The end of April was cousin Danny Ramirez' farewell. He is heading to Albuquerque. Did I spell that right? So Becca came over (on her very birth day! She got some classic cards from the kids. One quotable, "I could rock your world.") and drove up with us. We were glad we got there early enough to work off some wiggles in a park next to the church with some freeze tag. Danny did a great job! He is going to be an awesome missionary. We took pictures of the second cousins in front of the church, and Spencer wanted one of the pregnant mamas too, since Emily just announced #3 is on the way! Exciting!
