iVIE Awards

San Diego County has the iVIE Awards every year (innovative video in education) and I took Rachel and her friend Chinmayi down for the big night.
Their class made a video last year as part of their animal unit.
The awards were held in a huge theater and the kids walked in on a red carpet. They would show clips of the nominees in each category and there was an MC and different presenters. They would call the winners who would run up to receive trophys and to give a speech. The girls thought it was pretty cool. But my guess is Rachel enjoyed the Skittles Chinmayi brought just as much as being at the awards.

Her class won a "Special Achievement" award for set design for their video, which was extra fun for me since I helped all the kids last year paint their animals and I did the jeep. They were excited. She has such a great teacher!

Here is a link to their short video:

You had Naomi in suspense -- the movie kept cutting off right when they said, "Baby elephants are called c. . . . ." It's a good thing I could tell her since she really wanted to know!

I thought all the animals looked great, but the jeep was especially spectacular -- great job!

Thanks Bethany. You never know what the teacher will have you do when coming in to volunteer!
Sorry the video cut out--I assumed it was the full thing. Naomi is so cute. Thanks for commenting :)
